Maynooth Guild

History of Guild: An inaugural meeting was held in the Band Hall, Pound Street in Nov 1952. On 8th Dec 1952, the first meeting took place and the first President elected was Mrs Patricia Kinahan, whose daughter, Felicity Satchwell, still resides in Maynooth and has a passionate love for flowers and crafts.
By the end of the first year there were 125 members. In 1964 the Guild bought their present hall, which used to belong to Macra Na Feirme until 1962. It was in a state of disrepair but this was not a problem to ICA women. With the help of friends and husbands, the hall was made habitable again and it is still a valuable asset to the community of Maynooth to this day.
