History of Guild: Ellistown Guild was set up by Liz Fitzpatrick. She had 2 small children and was new to the area. After speaking with Ruby Johnston who was a member of Curragh Guild, Liz came up with the bright idea of setting up Ellistown Guild. Ruby put Liz in touch with Nellie Dillon and Eileen Bateson who helped set up the first meeting in Ellistown GAA Hall on Wednesday 4th November 1992.

What kind of things would you offer a new member who might be thinking of joining your guild?
Ellistown is a vibrant guild that has 23 members. Primarily it's about meeting up and having a chat, making new friends, and new members are always made feel welcome. Firm friendships have been formed between women whose paths otherwise would never have crossed. We have craft nights where we share our skills. We go on outings, share recipes, and have guest speakers who give very interesting talks.
