IMPORTANT INFORMATION


With regard to the Make and Model competition and the Gempack Baking Competition, if there are any members interested in entering please let me know by 8 February so that I may arrange a venue for judging. This is because the closing date for the competition is before our next Federation Meeting.

For all competitions that I am responsible for organising, Judge's results are final and no communication with be entered into afterwards.

Teams will be required to dance two figures of their chosen set

Marching on and off floor not permitted

Uniforms will not gain extra marks

Teams need not all be from same guild

There will be a musician at the National Final to play for the sets

Details of Federation winners with name of set being danced to Central Office by 23rd March 2012

TIVOLI MAKE & MODEL COMPETITION

Theme: One Item to wear on a Spring Outing - Proof of Tivoli Wool Purchase is required at Federation and National Level.

The maker of the outfit must model it herself at Federation Final and at the National Final in An Grianán.

Names of Federation Winner to be submitted to Central Office by 27th February 2012.

Information Pack will be forwarded in Early March 2012

National Final will be held on 24th March at An Grianán





GEMPACK BAKING COMPETITION

Simnel Cake (Maximum Size 8 inches Round). Proof of Gempack Purchases is required at Federation and National Level.

The names and recipes of the Federation winners of the Gempack Cake Baking Competition must be submitted to Central Office by 27th February 2012.



GEMPACK RECIPE COMPETITION NATIONAL FINAL-24TH MARCH 2012 AT AN GRIANÁN

Dinner for a Family of Four to include a Starter, Main Course and Desert using as many Gempack Products as possible.

Proof of Gempack Purchases is required at Federation and National Level.

The names and recipes of the Federation winners of the Gempack Recipe Competition must be submitted to Central Office by 27th February 2012.




NATIONAL TABLE QUIZ FINAL

24th March 2012 at An Grianán - Names of Federation Teams to be submitted to Central Office by 27th February 2012.

Out of the entry fees for the table quiz we are asking federations to pay dinner and B&B for their winning team in An Grianán.

Information Pack will be forwarded to Federations in Early March 2012.

GUILD of the YEAR COMPETITION 2011


Clane Guild will host this Competition

The theme of this years competition is "Volunteering"

The competition consists of 6 categories. Category 1, Drama is compulsory and choose any 4 from the other 5 categories.

CATEGORY 1: DRAMA (Compulsory)
Perform on the night, a sketch with the title "Volunteering". Maximum number of participants 6.
Length of sketch: maximum 8 minutes, empty stage to empty stage.


CATEGORY 2: COOKERY
Make an egg sponge with jam filling


CATEGORY 3: CRAFT
Make a Tea Cosy, any medium, e.g. knit, crochet or patchwork


CATEGORY 4: ARTS
Create a Floral Arrangement suitable for an afternoon tea table


CATEGORY 5: DESIGN
Decorate a plain T Shirt with the theme "volunteering" in mind.


CATEGORY 6: COMORTAS AS GAEILGE
Scríobh scéal gearr ar cuimhniú "volunteering" i do shaol i mBantracht na Tuaithe. 100 focal
Write a short story on a memory of "volunteering" in ICA. 100 words

GEMPACK BAKING COMPETITION

A Big thank you to Gempack foods who are sponsoring a baking and recipe competition


This Competition has been judged. 8" Round Light Fruit Cake baked using Gempack Gourmet Fruit and Gempack Sugar. Empty Fruit Pack and Sugar Pack and Recipe needed for entrance to Competition

MAKE AND MODEL COMPETITION

A Dress suitable to wear to a Garden Party


Make a Dress that would be suitable for YOURSELF to wear to a Garden Party.
The maker of the outfit must model it herself at the Federation Final and the National Final in An Grianán on Fri 18th March 2011.

The Competition is open to all paid-up members. There is no charge to enter the competition but there will be a nominal charge of €5 on the night to cover expenses. Our sponsors, Hickeys, have stipulated that the materials for your outfit must be purchased in Hickeys so please keep your receipts as these will be submitted with entries.

Any member wishing to take part should forward their name to Ita Killaly or Mary Spain before the closing date of 1st Feb 2011. Comp : CLOSED

This competition will take place on WED 16th FEB 2011 in the ICA Hall Maynooth.

Admission on the night: €5

This night has taken place and the winner was a member of Clane Guild. I will post her name here when I have it.
There were two entries from Kildare and second place was awarded to Mary O'Gorman from Maynooth Guild.

BETTY MANNING TROPHY 2011


The Competition for the Betty Manning Trophy will be in three parts:

1:
A Poster (any medium) A3 size to advertise a Guild Event

2:
A Report (computer generated) on that event. Report to be 500-1000 words

3:
6 Photographs of that event. Each photo to be 6" x 4" (15cm x 10cm)

The entries to be with Federation by end of April 2011. Federations to send 2 winning entries to National Contest Secretary by 3rd April 2011. Results to be given at AGM in May 2011.

Choose one of the Four Seasons and present a 15 minute show on that Season
